Position: Analytics Engineer Intern
Location: KEEN’s Global Headquarters in Portland, Oregon (on-site)
Duration: 10 weeks
Compensation: $22/hour
Program Duration: Monday, June 14th – Friday, August 20th
What You'll Do
As an Intern at KEEN (KEENtern), you’ll dive into the exciting world of footwear, innovation, and community! You’ll get hands-on experience working alongside industry experts and contribute to shaping the future of KEEN.
On the Analytics Engineering team, you will help KEEN through one of its most important data initiatives: our move to SAP S/4HANA. You will work alongside our analytics engineers to map how legacy SAP data translates to the new system, confirm that key numbers tie out in our data warehouse, and document the tables and business logic our reporting will rely on for years to come. Along the way, you build practical experience with a modern data stack, including Snowflake, dbt, SQL, and Power BI, and see how data powers everything from inventory to finance at a global footwear brand.
Essential Responsibilities
• Map legacy SAP tables and fields to their SAP S/4HANA equivalents, documenting structural and business-logic differences
• Write SQL to reconcile legacy and S/4HANA data across Snowflake and SQL Server, including row counts, key metrics, and financial and inventory tie outs
• Investigate and log data discrepancies, partnering with analytics engineers and business users to identify root causes
• Review Power BI reports to identify dependencies on legacy SAP structures and recommend which reports need rework or retirement
• Document new source tables, data lineage, and business logic in Confluence as new data models are built
• Contribute to dbt models and data quality tests with guidance from the Analytics Engineering team
• Track progress throughout the internship and present findings and recommendations to the team and stakeholders
Minimum Qualifications
• Currently pursuing or recently completed a bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Analytics, Data Science, or a related field
• Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university at the Junior, Senior, or Graduate level. You will also be considered if you have recently graduated from an accredited college or university.
• Must be able to work 40 hours/week during the internship program during normal working hours (Monday–Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM) and be available to work in the office 5 days/week.
• Coursework or project experience writing SQL queries (e.g., joins, aggregations, filtering)
• Familiarity with a data visualization tool such as Power BI or Tableau, or advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, lookups)
• No prior SAP or ERP experience required
