About the Position

This role is expected to lead one or more program(s) within the Connect Division. This role is crucial in steering our efforts towards exploring, developing and/or implementing new products, services, and offerings to improve the Connect platform, and ensuring the team delivers on Dimagi’s core values of Impact, Team, and Profit (in that order). The scope of this role will vary depending on the interventions or special projects they are leading and is expected to rapidly evolve along with the priorities of the division.

Responsibilities

• Lead one or more Connect interventions which may include some or all of the following phases: conceptualization, development, testing and/or implementation of new products or solutions, as well as the development and execution of go-to-market strategy.

• End-to-end accountability for your own intervention, which includes (but is not limited to):

• Maintaining a high-level vision and objectives for the intervention, aligned on with senior leadership and implementing teams.

• Leading program design, including ideating, testing and iterating on approaches and selecting research and evaluation methods, in line with program goals, constraints and user needs.

• Ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outcomes of contracted work with external or internal partners.

• Defining success criteria and how to measure them, including user engagement and feedback, and using data on an ongoing basis to assess ROI and adherence to the intervention's vision and objectives.

• Liaise with internal or external partners/clients to assess requirements, discuss implementation, brainstorm approaches, and secure future funding.

• Determining optimal integration of AI-driven tools to improve intervention outcomes.

• Define and develop implementation strategies:

• Collaborate with other intervention leads to set and share standards, methodology, life cycle phases and best practices for project implementation (tools, process, guidance, documentation).

• Stay on top of delivery challenges and successes across the division, surface risks and strategic opportunities, and work with other intervention leads to align on priorities and resourcing.

• Advance the division’s overall goals and strategy, as well as the implementation of these goals and associated processes.

• Take on special projects or assignments outside your own intervention(s) that support division and organizational priorities, based on division needs. These often require close collaboration with stakeholders outside of the Division and may include:

• Business development, such as proposals, concept notes, market research, and partner or donor engagement.

• AI and automation, such as identifying, testing, and rolling out tools that improve delivery and division efficiency.

• Data and reporting, such as building dashboards, analyzing program data, and preparing internal or external reports.

• Marketing and communications, such as blog posts, case studies, demo videos, and presentation materials.

• Becoming a Subject Matter Expert on a specific program area that requires deep learning, research, or collaboration with industry experts. This knowledge is expected to be used for program design or internal consultation.

• Other cross-functional initiatives as division priorities evolve.

• Leadership and Team Management:

• Lead resource planning and management for own intervention(s) in consultation with other intervention leads.

• Build an agile team, foster a culture of innovation, encouraging team members to explore new ideas and approaches, as well as adapt to ambiguity and new ways of working.

• Mentor and manage to maintain a high bar for performance, escalating performance challenges swiftly.

• Ensure the team has the skills and motivation to deliver, and where possible create development opportunities (including stretch assignments) so project work supports their growth path.

• Proactively address and find solutions for issues impacting the proper implementation of projects and the wellbeing of the team.

• Directly manage several members of the team as needed.

• Support the annual performance review process.

• Support hiring efforts by identifying the required profiles needed for project delivery, team balance and by participating in the recruiting process.
